Credit Union 1

I am a fairly new member of Credit Union 1 after the credit union that I've belonged to for more than 30 years recently transitioned to them. This is the first time that I applied for a loan through CU1 and it was the easiest most efficient experience ever. Stress free and the money was in my account before the end of the same business day that I applied. Maria Sanchez was extremely helpful and responsive to any questions. This is the first time I've really felt that belonging to a credit union has had a real benefit to me as a member. Thank you Maria and CU1!

I would give a 5 star rating, however there are a few things that I believe Credit Union1 could improve on. First, almost every time I call the branch I am sent to voicemail. When I leave a message, I don't get a return call. Secondly, I have found it increasingly inconvenient to make payments on my loan. Now I have to go into the branch office to make a payment. This is because basically Credit Union 1 is trying to force customers to link their bank accounts to Credit Union 1's system to make payments. I don't want to link my bank account to their system. That should be my choice. Once I made a large payment by phone and it wasn't credited to my account. If I hadn't discovered this, I could have ended up with a 30 day late report on my credit report. I will say that the employees I have dealt with at the Paseo Verde branch were excellent. However, the credit union needs to correct the policy issues and make it more convenient to make payments.

We used to love Credit Union 1. We have several types of accounts with them as well as savings and checking accounts for 5 of our children. We received such fabulous, personal service, then they closed our local branch. As an avid online banker I wasn't as concerned as I didn't regularly have to go into the branch. Then I had multiple problems which required a trip to the branch and/or a call to customer service, all of them being awful experiences. I knew it was awesome having a branch full of very helpful people close by, but I didn't realize just how much I valued that. The Lake Mead branch was exceptional, way beyond the average banking experience. The manager there went above and beyond to help us manage our accounts, and that service hasn't been replaced. Because of recent changes, we'll be starting our younger 2 children's accounts at a different credit union and will be working on changing all of our other accounts over to that CU as well. It's kind of a daunting project since we have so many accounts tied there, but I just can't support this horrible company anymore.

I go to that location every Friday and every friday is the same excellent service. They make us feel welcomed and are greeted with a smile and fast, efficient service. I would like to add that the banker Melanie Estrada is an example to follow in regards of her customer service skills. She is friendly, fast, and very well trained and respectful. Thank you so much for your service Melanie Estrada.

Rachel has helped me so much via the chat services today. She was so patient, prompt response even though she's busy. She answered every single questions that I have, and made plan for me and proactively give me every single info I need to know, and explained it so well with examples to me. It's already a hassle when you have to figure out all possible financial options. Having a great customer service to provide the support and info that you need just makes everything feels a lot better. 5+++ for their customer service for sure!

Officially one of the worst banks to get a paycheck from. This bank is so radioactive ☢️ that my bank put a 12 day hold on it. This bank is so bad at business, that they have no confirmed number to call to verify my check. Way to make sure children don't get fed. Nice reply. But you can see my name. You can look at your checks issued. Then call the bank that it's being cashed at. Tell them to pay me. Then maybe I'll remove this. But I really doubt you can do anything about your reputation in the banking world. Still the worst place in the valley to receive a paycheck from. DO NOT EXCEPT A PAYCHECK FROM HERE. JUST GET A NEW JOB. THIS IS A FBI nuclear option to pay you. You will never get it.
